Li Si Cheng made an impressive start to the 67th Macau Grand Prix weekend, topping the opening practice session by more than a second.
Li left his run late in the 35-minute session, only going quickest for the first time with three minutes to go.
That was courtesy of a 2m34.106s, which displaced previous pace-setter Chang Wing Chung.
Li then went quicker again on his final lap, dropping the benchmark to a 2m33.209s.
That left him a formidable 1.2s clear of Chang at the flag, while the gap back to third-placed He Zi Jian was an impressive 4.1s.
Wei Chao Yin finished the session fourth quickest, 6 seconds off the pace, followed by Ling Kang, who made significant ground on his final lap to slot into fifth.
Liu Yang, who had led the way early in the session, was shuffled back to sixth, ahead of Leong Hon Chio, Lo Kwan Kit, Hong Shi Jie and Zhu Yuan Jie.
Practice for the Macau Grand Prix continues with a second session on the Guia Circuit at 2:05 pm local time today.
